ACC 6323 - Applied Data Analytics for AccountantsCredits: 3 Class: 3 Lab: 0 Prerequisite(s): Acceptance to the Master of Professional Accountancy Program. This course helps students demystify data analytics and realize their potential information technology application skills to answer real-world business questions through data preparation, data visualization, business data analysis, data interpretation, financial reporting accuracy, machine learning algorithms, tax compliance and planning. Data literacy with a core of accounting, data analytics, tax, and accounting information systems afford the development of 1) specific skills and concepts that are required to be successful in the business world and 2) topics included on the Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) exams. The focus of this class is on concepts and the use of current analytical tools relevant to accountants, and not on algorithms or statistical mathematics.
