An introduction to operations management with applications to manufacturing and service industries. This course will examine operations management in the context of larger supply chain management. Students will learn how value is created through the integrated production and distribution of goods, services, and information. Topics include operations strategy and productivity, forecasting, product and service design, process selection, capacity and location planning, quality management, quality control, inventory management, JIT and lean operations, project management, and overview of supply chain management.
