CJ 6391 - Thesis II

Prerequisite(s): Department approval, upon completion of the requirements of Thesis I (CJ 6390), taken in the student’s final semester in the program.
This is a capstone course for the MSCJ degree. This course represents a student’s final thesis enrollment. Under the direction of a faculty thesis chair and two other faculty members, the student will execute a study that produces a written document to address an issue or problem that concerns either a) a criminal justice agency or ancillary organization, b) the criminal justice system, or c) the causes of crime/delinquency. In the Thesis II course, the student will produce and orally defend a written final thesis (which generally encapsulates a problem statement, literature review, methods, analysis, discussion, and conclusions). This course represents a student’s continuing enrollment. The student continues to re-enroll in this course until the thesis committee approves the final thesis.
