MGT 4308 - Managerial LeadershipCredits: 3 Class: 3 Lab: 0 Prerequisite(s): Junior standing or departmental approval. This course supports students’ development into competent leaders, whether at work, school, or in their communities. Despite myths to the contrary, anyone can learn and improve upon the knowledge, skills, and abilities that constitute effective leadership. This course breaks down the latest research on leadership, covering an array of topics, including leadership styles and traits, cognitive biases and decision-making, influence and persuasion, communication, change, ethics, motivation, negotiations, power, and teamwork. Students will gain practice as well as an understanding of their leadership strengths and weaknesses through a variety of experiential learning exercises.
