This seminar provides an overview of issues confronting the criminal justice system in interactions with mentally ill offenders. Topics include the response of police, the courts, jails, and prisons to mentally ill offenders, mental illness and the criminal law, and strategies to confront the problem of mental illness in the criminal justice system.
