The Supply Chain Management major in the Marilyn Davies College of Business delivers the key skills needed for success in a 21st century global marketplace. The program emphasizes core knowledge in basic business functions, plus specific and current knowledge in logistics, inventory, analytics, systems, contracts, and procurement. Mastery in the skills serves as a strong foundation for achievement in a multitude of supply chain management careers, such as warehousing, operations, purchasing, logistics, and the management and development of each of these areas.
The Supply Chain Management major also provides the flexibility necessary to gain targeted skills that differentiate graduates in the job marketplace. Each student fulfills the required supply chain courses, and then supplements these with a group of three business courses that empower the graduate will a specific competitive skill that can be highlighted and used in a career search. These skills are available from multiple majors and areas of business, allowing students to carve a niche for themselves that is different from the graduates of other programs in supply chain. This program is recommended for students who are interested in careers in any of the functional or managerial areas of supply chain management.
UHD BBA graduates will meet the following learning outcomes:
- The student will use quantitative, ethical, and technology-assisted decision-making methods.
- The student will demonstrate career skills, including communication, professionalism, and an understanding of teamwork.
- The student will understand core business functions.
- Identify the factors influencing individual and organizational responsibilities and the ramifications of unethical behavior.
In addition, BBA Supply Chain Management graduates will meet the following learning outcomes:
- The student will identify key challenges of supply chains.
- The student will evaluate strategies for supply chain performance improvements.
- The student will select appropriate supply chain tools/methods.

Bachelor of Business Administration Programs
All majors within the Bachelor of Business Administration degree share the Texas Common Core requirements and a common core of business course requirements (Business core is listed under the Preparatory Area of the degree plan). These two core areas must be completed in addition to the Major Area and Elective Area of the degree plan. Students must complete the Texas Common Core Area prior to enrolling in upper-division courses. Upon completion of the Texas Common Core Area requirements and earning the requisite GPA, students should file for admission to the Marilyn Davies College of Business. Common core requirements may be filled by taking any of the courses listed as options under the heading of Common Core Requirements detailed in the Undergraduate Academic Programs section. To fulfill the Mathematics requirement, MATH 1324, or equivalent, is required. Transfer students who have not completed the institutional requirement are recommended to take UHD 2301 - University Seminar-Communication specifically “Going Virtual: Communication in Cyberspace.” Transfer students whose transfer credits, plus UHD credits, enable them to fulfill the common core and business core requirement in fewer than 90 hours may use free electives to complete the hours needed. Majors must complete a sufficient number of elective semester credit hours so that their entire coursework, including the above required courses, totals 120 semester credit hours. Upper or lower-level courses that are not used to satisfy other requirements may be applied to this area. Developmental courses, such as ENG 1300, MATH 0300, and MATH 1300, may not be applied as Free Electives to any MDCOB BBA or BAAS graduation requirements. Workforce Education (WECM) coursework may not be applied as Free Electives to any MDCOB BBA graduation requirements. Supply Chain Management Major Area (24 hours)
