BUS 6332 - Management of Nonprofit OrganizationCredits: 3 Class: 3 Lab: 0 Prerequisite(s): Graduate standing. This experiential course is designed to expose the students to comprehensive knowledge and skills for managing today’s nonprofit organizations. It will review areas essential to effective leadership of today’s nonprofit organization such as methods of developing, supervising, motivating, and recognizing volunteers and staff; communicating effectively within an organization; staff-volunteer relations; and stress, conflict, crisis management, and social responsibility. Managers in nonprofit organizations face the challenge of working with both paid and unpaid stakeholders in the organization’s future. Explore HRM topics such as legal employment issues, recruiting and hiring practices, diversity in the workplace, compensation and benefits, performance appraisal, and discipline.
