ECH 6302 - Trends and Issues in Early Childhood Education Research & PracticeCredits: 3 Class: 3 Lab: 0 Prerequisite(s): Graduate/post baccalaureate standing and department approval. This course is designed for MAT students in the early childhood area of the curriculum. It focuses primarily on the current trends and issues affecting early childhood education. Students will a) gather evidence-based research about families, early childhood advocacy, children with disabilities, and diversity as they relate to developmentally appropriate practices and align with the guidelines set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC.) b) present research to classmates online c) interview teachers who are currently working in the early childhood classroom and d) write a position paper based on the research collected.
