BIOL 5360 - Advanced Environmental BiologyCredits: 3 Class: 3 Lab: 0 Prerequisite(s): Students entering this course must have completed a baccalaureate degree in a natural science discipline which includes credit for General Biology II and General Chemistry II. This is a graduate level course requiring the analysis of ecological theory including the interaction of organisms at the population, community and ecosystem level with particular focus on the interactions of humans and their environment. Human impacts on the environment will be examined including losses in biodiversity, global warming and pollution. Students will evaluate economic and ethical considerations in developing solutions to current issues that impact the environment including population growth, poverty, conservation, agricultural practices, water use and energy production systems.
