MATH 2421 - Differential and Integral Calculus with Applications

Credits: 4 Class: 4 Lab: 0
Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or higher in one of the following:  MATH 1505 MATH 1404 MATH 1305 , or MATH 1306 .
Mathematical foundations needed for data science. Introduction to limits, continuity, derivatives, monotonicity and maxima/minima or real-valued functions, concavity of real-valued functions and inflection points, integrals, areas under curves, sequences, and series. Examples from statistics and data science will be used to illustrate application of the methods. Computational software will be used throughout this course.
