HIST 3343 - Martin Luther King and Malcolm XCredits: 3 Class: 3 Lab: 0 Crosslisted: CRS 3343 Prerequisite(s): Students are required to have taken HIST 1306 and 3 additional hours in history, junior standing, or consent of instructor. This course examines the speeches, sermons, and writings of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X. The course devotes attention to their overlapping lives, thought, and discourse and to ways that their religion influenced their views on race, economics, democracy, revolution, internationalism, etc. This course may not be repeated for credit.
