MATH 2421 - Differential and Integral Calculus with ApplicationsCredits: 4 Class: 4 Lab: 0 Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or better in MATH 1505 or placement by exam taken at UH-Downtown. Mathematical foundations needed for data science. Introduction to limits, continuity, derivatives, monotonicity and maxima/minima or real-valued functions, concavity of real-valued functions and inflection points, integrals, areas under curves, sequences, and series. Examples from statistics and data science will be used to illustrate application of the methods. Computational software will be used throughout this course.
