MATH 3317 - Actuarial Mathematics I

Prerequisite(s): A grade of C or better in MATH 2402,  or MATH 2412 , or MATH 2421 , or STAT 3309,  or STAT 3311 .
The purpose of this course is to develop mathematical and statistical tools to model and quantitatively assess risk based on empirical data, and to apply them to identify and calculate characteristics relevant to making insurance decisions. Terminology and contexts encountered in actuarial science will be emphasized.
