BIOL 6310 - Techniques in Proteins, Tissues and Cells Analysis

Credits: 3 Class: 2 Lab: 4
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 5310  or BIOL 5311
This course focuses on experimental methods for detecting, localizing, and quantifying proteins and enzymes in mammalian cells and tissues. Students will learn about the principles and applications of microscopy, chromatography, electrophoresis, blotting, spectrophotometry, and cell-based assays. Using these techniques, students will investigate cellular processes, evaluate the strengths and limitations of different techniques, and develop a strong foundation in both experimental design and data interpretation.
