ART 3335 - Ancient Near Eastern Art & ArchaeologyCredits: 3 Class: 3 Lab: 0 Crosslisted HUM 3335 . Credit may not be earned for both. Prerequisite(s): 3 hours of art history or art appreciation. Ancient Near Eastern Art & Archaeology is the study of the material culture of the Ancient Near East (primarily Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Persia), ranging from its art and architecture to its potsherds and stratified soils. The course will cover sculpture, architecture, vase-painting, sanctuaries, cities, and the countryside in combination with the debates that surround the interpretation of these remains.
